Overview

Provides limited term administrative support to the Public Safety Department.   Position will provide administrative process of the department, providing support to division staff, students, and instructional personnel.

 

This is a limited term position beginning February 26 through the end of April.  Ideal candidate will be available to work full time, but open to individuals who can work 30 - 40 hours as well.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide Administrative Support
    1. Maintain confidentiality of information.
    2. Word process documents using MS Office Word and Excel.
    3. Create periodic reports using Access, Word, or Excel.
    4. Assist faculty with the coordination of classroom materials.
    5. Assist in the preparation of materials for the division
  2. Provide Customer Service & Student Support
    1. Assist visiting customers to Public Safety Department.
    2. Respond to inquiries and provide information about program content and requirements to students or external agencies
  3. Manage and Maintain Data and Records
    1. Enter and retrieve information from the management information system (MIS).
  4. Support Instruction
    1. Assist with tracking and updating assigned programs and instructor schedules.
    2. Order equipment and supplies, order texts, generate work orders, as assigned.
    3. Assist with the Law Enforcement Academy through providing administrative support.
  5. Create and Process Documents
    1. Prepare reports and documents for the division.

 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  2. Strong customer service skills through in-person, phone and other mediums of correspondence.
  3. Ability to work independently with minimum instruction and supervision.
  4. Ability to organize, coordinate, and prioritize assigned job duties.
  5. Ability to handle multiple projects effectively in an environment with frequent interruptions.
  6. Ability to interact with diverse populations.

 

Education & Experience:

  1. Associate Degree in Administrative Programming and/or 2 years of related occupational experience.
  2. Microsoft Office Suite certification or demonstrated proficiency/experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook.)
