  • Overview

    Facilitates the equipment set-up for Public Safety Program Instructors within the Law Enforcement. Coordination of needs during classes, and clean up of items following the training sessions and/or practical exams. Conducts cleaning, maintenance and inventory of items and return to storage area following training sessions and/or practical exams. Works with appropriate Program Coordinator in the replacement of equipment and supplies

    Responsibilities

    1. Provides assistance to Lead Instructors and Teaching Assistants for courses in Law Enforcement.
    2. Supporting Actions;
      1. Coordinates the use of available equipment and supplies in respect to all program courses in order to comply with course requirements.
      2. Provides assistance to Lead Instructors/instructors of record in set-up, clean-up, repair, and administration of laboratory quizzes and exams.
      3. Performs set-up, clean up of lab supplies and equipment, and inventory, including maintenance of any equipment used during the training sessions, lab sessions, and/or testing for practical exams.
      4. Maintains records and dates on periodic maintenance of equipment, vehicles, and facilities as needed.
      5. Operate tools and equipment as necessary to support program.
    3. Maintains a working relationship with faculty and staff of Public Safety programs.
    4. Coordinates with program staff in assembling materials/supplies needed for labs and exams.
    5. Transports equipment from Blackhawk Technical College Central Campus to another campus and regional Public Safety Agency locations. This will require the
    6. Technician will drive a cargo vehicle and may occasionally pull a trailer.

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience:

     

      1. Knowledge of Law Enforcement/Police equipment and supplies.
      2. Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and techniques.
      3. Strong interpersonal skills, and oral and written communication skills.
