  • Overview

    Responsible for leading student recruitment activities to raise awareness of program offerings resulting in student enrollment. Position will meet with prospective students individually, in groups, and facilitate presentations to provide information on programs, enrollment, and career opportunities to prospective students. Coordination and attendance at recruitment events, including K-12 and community recruitment events.

     

    Positin will be open till filled.  Review of applicants will begin on July 9, 2018.

    Responsibilities

    1. Coordinate Student Recruitment Activities including:
      • Meet with prospective students individually and in groups to discuss career and post-secondary options.
      • Maintain a prospective student tracking system, and implement a sequential communication stream from first contact through matriculation. Complete activity reports for tracking and accountability purposes.
      • Assist in the preparation of presentations about BTC Programs, Career Pathways, job outlook, student support services, and college admissions process.
      • Provide early outreach to prospective students and their parents with information on the importance of post-secondary education through regular communications.
      • Coordinate and Conduct ongoing college access workshops and activities for traditional and nontraditional prospective students. Educate prospective students about career options and educational requirements.
      • Coordinate Tech Exploration Days and similar on-campus recruitment activities.       Assist with district-wide college and career readiness activities.
      • Assist in the preparation of promotional materials related to BTC programming.       Distribute and maintain up to date materials at appropriate locations.
      • Maintain a regular schedule of Admissions Information Meetings and Career Exploration Workshops.
      • Coordinate and Assist with New Student Welcome Days.
    2. Develop Community and High School Outreach Activities
      • Maintain a visit schedule to area middle schools and high schools in collaboration with other members of the recruitment team.
      • Maintain a visitation schedule of identified community sites for the purpose of recruiting and enrolling young adults and out of school youth into occupational training.
      • Conduct up-to-date, age appropriate presentations about BTC programs, career information, college admissions process, and career services to individuals, civic groups, and/or service clubs within BTC district.
      • Visit BTC centers and outreach sites and provide information related.
      • Represent BTC at education fairs and other events.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    1. Strong interpersonal, customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
    2. Demonstrated ability to interact with diverse populations
    3. Experience working within a team environment.
    4. Proficient with Microsoft Office Software.
    5. Understanding of client relationship management and utilization of software to manage relationship

     

    Education & Experience:

    1. Associate Degree in Education, Social Science or Related Field.
    2. Two (2) years of work experience in career counseling or education.
    3. Prior post-secondary experience in recruitment, advising, admissions, and/or enrollment preferred.
