  • Overview

    As the Engineering Instructor you will lead instruction in engineering, engineering technology, mechatronics, process systems, and related science courses. In collaboration with Business and Instustry, you will lead a college credit based flexible learning environment to meet the changing needs of this growning industry. Position will report directly to the Dean Manufacturing, Apprenticeship, Technology and Transportation.

     

    Position is posted open till filled, but we will start review of applicants on September 25, 2018.

    Responsibilities

    1. Lead instruction and student assessment, ensuring students are working toward the       competencies of defined course and program learning outcomes.
    2. Collaborate with Business & Industry and Secondary Education to ensure the development of a high quality advanced technological student pipeline for today’s Advanced Manufacuring & Engineering sectors.
    3. Collaborate with instructors, advisors and staff in a team effort to help drive student success in the new teaching and learning environments.
    4. Develop curricula, assessments, lab projects and assess other materials, enhancing this student centered flexible technological learning approach, including on-line, face-to-face and project-centered lab environments.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, etc), Applied Physics, or the equivalent.
    2. Minimum of two years (4,000 hours) of occupational experience within engineering related field of which at least one year (2,000 hours) shall be within five years prior to date of appointment. One year (2,000 hours) of related occupational experience may be waived if the occupational instructor has at least two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within five years prior to the date of appointment (two years of post-secondary teaching experience means eight semesters of part-time teaching or four semesters of full-time teaching at an accredited institution).

     

    Desired Qualifications:

    1. Master’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, etc), Applied Physics, or the equivalent.
    2. Previous post-secondary education experience.
    3. Experience in process engineering.
