  • Overview

    Position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing BTC visual presence through visual storytelling across multiple platforms consistent with the College brand. This position takes photos used in College-wide marketing materials and communication tools as well as plans and executes the creation of videos.

    Responsibilities

    1. Create strategic, entertaining, and/or informative videos for special events, and for the College website, social media platforms, email communications, meetings/presentations, and other media as needs arise.
    2. Create expertly edited videos worthy of wide audiences that showcase programs, facilities, student life, and extracurricular offerings, as well as video interviews with faculty, students, and alumni.
    3. Generate ideas for new videos, storyboard concepts, film and conduct interviews, gather necessary b-roll footage, and edit videos to meet the College's marketing and communication standards and needs.
    4. Suggest and implement ideas for new videos that will help the College recruit and retain students, and build alumni and donor support.
    5. Oversee the production of videos for the College's virtual tour.
    6. Ensure all videos created follow the College's brand guidelines.
    7. Organize, manage, and schedule video shoots.
    8. Archive and organize valuable video footage for reuse in future projects.
    9. Work with other College teams to maximize video reach.
    10. Manage the College's YouTube channel, making sure videos are titled, key-worded, transcribed, and organized in a way to maximize views and meet accessibility standards.
    11. Work with the Digital Communications Specialist to publish all videos on the College website.
    12. Maintain all video and photo gear and equipment.
    13. All other administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    1. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
    2. Demonstrated proficiency in Final Cut Studio Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, or other video editing tools
    3. Ability to expertly operate mid- to high-level video cameras, microphones, and lighting.
    4. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and especially in writing, with associates in all levels of the college
    5. Willingness to update and improve own knowledge and skills pertaining to college communications
    6. Willingness to become a cross-trained member of the Marketing and Communications team
    7. Ability to work on your own or in a team, with minimal supervision
    8. Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information

     

    Education & Experience:

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in communications, media studies, marketing or a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution or Associate’s Degree and equivalent experience.
    2. 3-5 years of experience rapidly designing, producing and editing video, audio and multimedia content, preferably in an education setting.
    3. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
    4. Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
