  • Overview

    Blackhawk Technical College is currently seeking to engage Part-time Instructors for CNC and Manual Machining classes at our Milton Campus, and in educational activities with regional industry.

    Responsibilities

    Technical Instructional Duties:

     

    1. Set-up and operate multiple axis CNC mills and lathes.
    2. Read engineering prints and interpret print requirements.
    3. Choose the correct tooling, materials, feeds, and speeds.
    4. Assemble tools and presets.
    5. Be able to meet quality standards on project parts produced.
    6. Perform adjustments and offsets as necessary.
    7. Troubleshoot basic machine and machining problems.
    8. Utilize lean manufacturing principles.
    9. Contirbute to a clean and safe work environment.

    Position Responsibilities:

     

    1. Provide lab based instruction individually and as part of a faculty team.
    2. Contribute to improving the effectiveness of instruction and curriculum.
    3. Create a classroom/lab environment that is respectful of all.
    4. Maintain accurate student records and reports.
    5. Identify students needing assistance and refer students to Student Services. Collaborate with Student Services and the Learning Resources staff members to help students adjust to the learning environment.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    1. BA/BS in any field; OR AA/AS in any field .
    2. If BA/BS then 2 years or 4,000 hours of machining field experience; OR if AA/AS then 6 years or 12,000 hours of machining field experience.
