Overview

Blackhawk Technical College is seeking candidates to Lab Assistant in our Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.  Candidates may be asked to laboratory supervision and evaluation at the Blackhawk Technical College Central Campus, as well as at clinical affiliates.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist in on-campus laboratory activities structured and open labs. 
  2. Assist in the development and implementation of program goals, clinical objectives, and clinical evaluation system.
  3. Assist in the coordination of clinical education and laboratory activities as assigned by the Clinical Coordinator or course instructor.
  4. Schedules regular visits to clinical sites to monitor effectiveness and elevate issues to program director.
  5. Assists faculty and Clinical Coordinator in the clinical assignment of students.
  6. Meets regularly with program officials to maintain current documentation of student’s clinical progress, coordinate, and maintain student clinical records.
  7. Interact with program students with a positive and professional attitude to resolve issues.
  8. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with program policy and all applicable laws.
  9. Participates in continuing education to improve evaluation skills and maintain professional competency in the practice of sonography.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Certified in Sonography by the ARDMS, CCI, or ARRT. Must have specialty in area of supervision (Abdominal,OB/GYN, Vascuar Technology, Breast)
  2. Recent work experience as a sonographer in an appropriate clinical setting.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  1. Experience working with and evaluation of sonography students in the clinical setting.
  2. Associate degree in medical imaging, education, or other related field.
