Overview

As the Men’s Golf coach you will be responsible for providing mentorship, support, and expertise to enhance performance, foster skill development, and promote a positive and collaborative environment. The ideal coach possess strong communication skills, leadership qualities, and a passion for helping others succeed. Coach will be expected to create a culture of compliance in all facets of NJCAA Bylaws and Polices. Welfare and safety of student-athletes is a priority.

Responsibilities

  1. Player/Team Development:
    • Assess and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of individuals or teams.
    • Develop and implement customized training programs to enhance skills and performance.
    • Provide constructive feedback to players or team members to facilitate continuous improvement.
  2. Leadership and Motivation:
    • Inspire and motivate players or team members to achieve their full potential.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes collaboration and sportsmanship.
    • Serve as a role model for professionalism and ethical behavior.
  3. Communication and Recruitment:
    • Promote the team and work to recruit and maintain team members.
    • Effectively communicate with players, team members, parents, and other stakeholders.
    • Provide clear instructions and feedback in a constructive manner.
    • Keep stakeholders informed about team progress, upcoming events, and other relevant information.
  4. Player Welfare:
    • Monitor the physical and mental well-being of players or team members.
    • Address any concerns related to health, safety, or personal issues in a supportive manner.
    • Collaborate with relevant medical professionals to ensure the overall well-being of individuals.
  5. Game Day Responsibilities:
    • Plan and execute effective game-day strategies.
    • Provide real-time guidance and adjustments during competitions.
    • Remain composed under pressure and make quick decisions to adapt to changing situations.
    • Safely transport team and necessary equipment to and from events and competitions in Blackhawk Technical College vehicles as needed.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Experience and knowledge as a player, coach, or instructor of golf.
  2. Strong priority in teaching the fundamentals and rules of golf.
  3. Excellent Communication Skills, including motivating and encouraging players.

 

Education & Experience:

  1. Associate Degree in Education or related field or comparable work experience.
  2. Two or more years of experience within the area of golf and/or coaching.
  3. Hold a valid Class D Driver’s License (standard driver’s license) with clean driving record. (Insurance approval required to drive college vehicles.)
