Overview

Role works within Enrollment Services to assist in the processing of admission/enrollments of students, verifying compliance with rules, regulations, and polices.  Respond to inquiries, provide information, and advise on options and alternatives in pursuit of an informed decision concerning educational goals. Organize and perform high level information processing activities for Enrollment Services, and as needed for financial aid, records, and registration.

Position may be scheduled to provide coverage on evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

Provide Customer Service & Student Support

  1. Greet, assist and monitor visiting customers within
  2. Respond to inquiries and provide information about program content and requirements to potential students or external
  3. Collaborate and interact with Enrollment, Student Support and the Early College
  4. Assist new and continuing Dual Credit students in credit transition and registration process on
  5. Assist students with computer troubleshooting and password

Processing and acceptance of applications for admission.

  1. Process applications; review documentation to determine if program prerequisites and state, federal and college policies have been met.
  2. Verify the accuracy of information provided, enter information into the database(s), and
  3. maintain/update database(s).
  4. Assign admission status and proper program code; notify applicants of
  5. Protect confidentiality and release records in compliance with
  6. Assess applicant’s needs and advise using knowledge of financial aid, assessments, and college and program requirements,

Provide information and discuss options with prospective, current, and returning students.

  1. Advise students on options/alternatives available and what course(s) of action must be taken to meet admission objectives.
  2. Interpret, apply and explain policies, procedures and regulations to students, staff and the general public and exchange information
  3. Act as a resource for high schools, colleges, BTC staff and faculty for admissions questions and application status questions
  4. Provide back-up support for other functions and operations in Student Services, including responding to inquiries/requests and providing information
  5. Respond to inquiries and requests from other areas; determine if referral to other points of service within Student Services or across the college would be appropriate
  6. Process student requests received via the web, email, voicemail, external mail, or internal departments. (i.e. applications and program changes)
  7. Notify Financial Aid Office when a change affects an individual’s financial aid eligibility.

 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Experience working within a student information system (i.e. Banner) or Customer Relationship Manager (CRM- Recruit)
  2. Strong customer service skills through in-person, phone and other mediums of
  3. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential
  4. Ability to organize, coordinate, and prioritize assigned job
  5. Ability to handle multiple projects effectively in an environment with frequent
  6. Ability to interact with diverse

Education & Experience:

  1. Associate Degree in Administrative Professional or related field or comparable work experience.
  2. Two years related occupational experience.
